Society of Automotive Engineers, IIT Roorkee chapter, aims to bring together automobile enthusiasts of the college into the global SAE family. One of the most popular groups on the campus, SAE caters to all branches of automobiles, from formula one race cars to ATVs.

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) IIT Roorkee collegiate chapter was established with the collective effort of a group of students who had a strong urge to complement the theoretical knowledge imparted in the classroom, with emphasis on the practical aspects of engineering. It provides a platform to the students to share and increase their 'engineering' know-how through increased interaction between students at all levels, group activity, brainstorming and hands-on-engineering sessions, projects, industrial inputs and a whole bunch of other activities. Our dedicated members, emphasis on the foundations of a strong technical base and demonstrated commitment have combined to serve the needs of the upcoming next generation engineers.

Recently, SAE IITR has established its very own Team SAE AERO that particularly focuses on aerodynamics. Team SAE also takes part in various competitions and has a history of great honors and achievements.

The goal is to understand the concepts of mobility engineering and apply it to drift across roads and soar high in the sky!
